PADI Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the FIRST step in your scuba diving adventure! It is the most popular scuba diving course in the world and has introduced millions of people to the underwater world. Once you are certifed as a Open Water Diver, you will be able to dive independently with a buddy up to 18 metres, anywhere in the world!
Do you want to have more time to dive and relax when you're on holiday? You are now able to complete your theory and pool sessions in the city before heading out to Dungun and Pulau Tenggol. Just ask us about this option.
The PADI Open Water Diver course is divided into 3 sections:
01.
Theory Session
  • You will be required to complete the ‘theory session’ before moving on to the ‘confined water’.
  • Learn about the physics, equipment, safety, dive planning and environment.
  • The PADI Open Water Diver Manual consists of 5 sections. You will be required to complete the 5 ‘Knowledge Reviews’ at the end of each section.
  • There are also 5 informative videos that will further enhance your understanding. You will then need to complete short quizzes & a ‘MCQ’ exam.
02.
Confined Water
  • You will be required to complete the ‘confined water’ before moving on to ‘open water dives’.
  • Learn how to assemble, use & care for your equipment.
  • Learn breathing techniques, buoyancy control and safety procedures in a safe & controlled environment with your instructor.
03.
Open Water Dives
  • Now it’s time to dive in the sea!
  • You will be required to complete 4 ‘open water dives’ in the open sea. Some key skills learned in the ‘confined water or pool session’ will be repeated during the open water dives so you know how & when to apply them.
  • A chance to experience & enjoy the amazing underwater world whilst being supervised by your instructor.

Prerequisites

  • Must be at least 10 years old or older (10-14 year olds qualify for Jr Open Water Diver)
  • Able to snorkel 300m with mask, snorkel & fin or swim 200m without mask,snorkel & fin
  • Able to float or thread water for 10 minutes without any swimming aids

GENERAL :
  • Rates are subject to change without prior notice
  • A minimum of 3 divers are required to go (includes other booking)
  • Bookings are subject to availability on the dive boats
  • ALL divers must provide certification cards & complete our 'Liability Release' form before boarding our dive boat.
PAYMENT :
  • Your booking will only be secured once we receive a 50% deposit in our bank account, within 3 days of your booking
  • Deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to other date(s)
  • Full payment is due 3 days prior to your arrival date.
CANCELLATION :
  • There will be NO refund for, any part of the package not utilised/no-show/cancellations
  • Viking Scuba Malaysia Sdn Bhd will not be responsible for any cancellation or change in schedule due to unforeseen circumstances which may include, delay of arrival time, severe weather, medical emergencies.
REFUND :
  • More than 3 days prior to arrival, 50% refund (if full payment made)
  • Less than 3 days prior to arrival, 0% refund
  • No refund/carrying forward packages if unable to dive on subsequent days of package.
